I’ve just tested on a clean WP/BP installation and widgets I’ve added are showing up in the sidebar of all BuddyPress pages. What kind of widgets are you adding? Single WP or WP multisite? What theme are you using? Is this localhost or in production site?

You can only place a widget in a widget area.
