I’ve activated it but it seems to be much more complicated and more advanced than what I’m looking for. The network creates sub sites with its own users. That’s not what I wanted.

Through a stroke of luck I finally found that it was the plugin “BuddyPress Backwards Compatibilty” that cause all the trouble.
I deactivated it and now everything is fine.

I had a working version of the latest buddypress running just fine.
I just finished activating the Network and everything seemed fine until I notice some links are no longer working.
These links just take me to the start page no matter what.
