Activation Email Not Being Sent To Newly Registered Members

    @mrmikedave

    Hi guys, I have been having trouble with registering new members on the Buddy Boss theme with Buddy Press.

    When I try to register a new member it say the “activation details have been sent to my email”. When I check my email however there is nothing!

    I have also checked in the junk mail etc and still I cannot find emails to activate an account as a new member. So when I try to login the account as a user it refuses and just shakes because I am not yet a user etc. I have tried to do this on different browsers and also made sure to log out of admin when doing all of this. I have also tried just the BuddyPress plugin on my other domain names and new websites which do not have any other plugins installed yet as I thought it may be something which is interfering with the Buddypress plugin, however I still continue to have the same problem.

    I must be doing something wrong, hwo can I get the activation email to be sent out automatically so newly registered members can receive it and be able to login. Can you help me?

    Kind Regards
    Mike

    This could be theme-related. Have you tested with TwentyFifteen to see if the problem occurs with that theme activated?

    With a new bp setup I usually check these things first if email are not seeming to send or go through ->https://buddypress.org/support/topic/activation-e-mail-failing-to-send/#post-241079 (From a recent similar thread)

    Better to check the basics before digging into whether it’s a email header config on the server, php settings limiting functionality – need for wp to send as smtp plugin – something just with gmail blackhole filtering –

    so many different things can affect wp sending, bp sending, your web serving sending email as php, or an email service accepting something that was sent, much less put in the actual inbox instead of junk mail / promotions box or whatever…
