Allowing multiple filtering types at once on members directory?

Is it possible to allow a user to select multiple filter tabs from the member directory? I’m talking about the “All”,”My Friends”, etc. tabs. I set up some custom tabs and think it would be a nice feature if a member could select more than one of those at once.
