BuddyPress 3.1.0 is now available!
BuddyPress 3.1.0 is now available. It includes 23 bug fixes. See https://buddypress.org/2018/06/buddypress-3-1-0-maintenance-release/ for more information.
However, there might be some manual adjustments you will need to make to fix some outstanding issues. These adjustments are listed below:
Activation email problems
If you did a fresh install of BuddyPress 3.0.0 on a single-site install, the activation email would not be sent out because the activation email was not properly installed.
To fix this, upgrade to BuddyPress 3.1.0 and in the WordPress admin dashboard, navigate to “Tools > BuddyPress” and select the “Reinstall emails” option.
Activation key is empty when a user clicks on their activation URL
In BuddyPress 3.0.0, we no longer auto-activate member accounts via URL (eg. example.com/activate/XXXXX). Instead, when the user navigates to this page, the user must submit the form.
The activation key should be auto-populated in the Activation Key field if you did not override the template files in your theme.

If that is the case, please edit your theme’s
members/activate.phpfile to match this change:
If you are using an older theme, the template might be located under
registration/activate.php. If that is the case, then make the following change:
Group issues with legacy forum calls
In BuddyPress 3.0.0, the legacy forums component was removed in favor for using the bbPress plugin to power discussion forums:
If you are using a custom theme with BuddyPress support, you might encounter a problem on group pages. You will need to adjust your group template to remove the legacy forum function call.
