Buddypress and qtranslate

  • loubas

    I use 2 languages (English and Dutch) in my buddypress site with qtranslate. I also have the default buddypress page for the “Activity”, but when I switch between “All Members” and “My Groups” for example, the text of the Activity page resets to default (English).

    Additionally, the labels that appear are wrong, e.g.

    where “aa” was the post title in English and “bb” the post title in Dutch.

    Finally, some post content start with “!–:en–”.

    I use the default bp theme.

    Is there any solution on this?
    Thank you very much!

    I have the same problem.
    qTranslate -\- BuddyPress
    Somebody help me!
    In the transition between pages buddypress automatically jumps to the default language. The same thing happens on the widgets.
    Here is a vivid example.

    Does not anyone know how to fix this deficiency?

    In some cases, it is more logical to use qTranslate (no WPML).
    Did not the developers are working in this direction?
    I would be very grateful to those who tell me a way around this problem.

    “Include language slug for BuddyPress URL’s

    Not sure if it’s qTranslate or BuddyPress related, but I found a nice way to modify all BuddyPress URL’s to include qTranslate language slug.
    To do that, I had to do the following changes in qtranslate_hooks.php:

        //comment out next line, otherwise 404 page is displayed
        //add_filter('clean_url',                  'qtrans_convertURL');
        //include language slug in all BuddyPress URL's
        add_filter('bp_core_get_root_domain', 'qtrans_convertURL');

    Hope you can include this into next verison of qTranslate plugin.”

    Checked. Working.
    Yes, logic buddypress is so special that the hook can not do without. (
