Buddypress Can’t Find My bbPress config – forums page is blank

  • I just upgraded from Buddypress 1.5 to 1.6.1. i’m running WP (Multisite) 3.4.1.

I chose ‘use existing installation’ under the “Groups” settings (not site-wide).

Since the upgrade, my storyaday.org/forums page is blank, as is any forum linked to from within a group.

I’ve tried putting in my absolute url to the bb-config.php file, but it still says ‘this file does not exist’.

Any ideas what’s going wrong? Is bbPress not working with 1.6.1?

  • Can anyone explain how upgrading to 1.6.1 might have caused WP to ‘lose’ my forums? And what I can do to help it find them. I’ve deleted and reinstalled fresh files, but no joy.

I’ve tried putting the absolute path to the bb-config.php (in the root of my WP install) into the Settings page and clicking on ‘use existing install’ but it says the file does not exist. My forums still don’t show up. HELP PLEASE!

    Anyone?

@jwordsmith – Sorry if you were confused during the forum installation.

You shouldn’t have to click on “Use existing installation”. Try clicking on the “Uninstall group forums” button and then click on “Install Group Forums”.

    Hopefully that fixes your issue.
