so what I’m trying to do is add a dynamic link/button to a users upload area on there profile from the music or photos page on my website, I’ve been hunting around to no avail.

Which BuddyPress Media plugin are you using? There are two.

The one from rtCamp will soon be introducing a templating system which will let you add your own code/markup to the media pages. Think the update is scheduled for release sometime this week?
