Error with languages in BP Hierarchy 1.2.6

  • I want to translate the plugin to Swedish. I have discovered a series of problems.

Using the CodeStyling Localization plugin I get this message:

Compatibility: Loading Issue: Author is using load_textdomain instead of load_plugin_textdomain function. This may break behavior of WordPress, because some filters and actions won’t be executed anymore. Please contact the Author about that.

Then pot file is not in the language folder but in the main folder. Simple fix.

The pot file is named bp-group-hierarchy.pot which is the correct name. The language files for Spanish should be named bp-group-hierarchy-es_ES.po and .mo respectively. I can see in the language folder that they are named es_ES.po and .mo which is the name for the language files for translation of WordPress. They should be bp-group-hierarchy-es_ES.po and .mo respectively if you follow the standard procedure.

When I install the in the language folder for some reason the translation does not work. When renaming the file to the translation works. So there seems to be some confusion of the language files names.

Can you fix this? If so I would be happy to translate the program, and the BP Group Organizer for you.

@goranrudling – I’ve fixed the problems you mentioned. Thanks so much for taking the time to explain these issues rather than just posting the CodeStyling Localization output. I’m still getting used to the translation workflow and it was a big help. :)

Please try out the development version of both plugins, and let me know if there are any problems. I’d be happy to include your translation in the next release!
