Hiding Username Field – Solution

    I’ve searched high and low for a way to hide the primary user field (username) in BuddyPress and have seen plenty of requests for the same. I’m not sure if there’s a preferred solution or not, but thought I’d share this mod that’s working fine for me in 1.7.

    To hide the username display field from members (to prevent editing), use the following to replace the table section in buddypress/bp-themes/theme-name/members/single/profile/profile-loop.php, or create the same directory tree in your child theme:
