    Hey guys,

    I have done the translation to Chinese, is there a way to import the .po and .mo file to BuddyPress so that the .po file will also be updated accordingly if any new updates are made in future release?

    Thanks @danbp. I went through their document but I didn’t see any link or button for importing .po file. is it because of the permission? and also there is no v2.3 being listed over there.

    Official BP translations are all listed here:
    https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/buddypress/2.2.x

    To upload your own version, you need permission from chinese team administrator. You can also ask them to join the team, or became editor on the BP project. For how to get in touch, see here:

    Home

    You’re right, BP translation are not tagged 2.3, but 2.2.xx. Don’t know why, but despite this detail, it’s the most recent used with BP 2.3.2.1

    I have already sent them a message, but unfortunately there is no response.
    That’s why I translated the latest version of bp which has many new texts being added in.

    can someone advise me how to add the chinese translation to buddypress thanks

    @idichoo

    We use GlotPress to store the translations. You can see all BuddyPress translations at https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/buddypress

    You will need to learn how to use GlotPress, and get your translations added. See https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/handbook/about/get-involved/first-steps/

    I had asked a friend who also contributes translations to get in contact with you and offer help, but I assume this hasn’t happened yet. So, if you have a specific question about the process, I would recommend asking the question on https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/

    I am sorry this is painful for you. The effort will be worth it in the end. Thank you!

    Well…

    I have contributed some translation, but i saw the translation is about 93%.

    Therefore, i am fine with it. How to use it the plugin Or do I have wait until it is 100% translated.
    Then it can be use.

    @idichoo,

    is the version you use for your site complete ?

    If yes, ask on Polyglots to became Translation Editor. The one actually declared as BuddyPress PTE @jerryd221 seems to be inactive or very busy. His last activity was 3 mounth ago. More annoying, there is no contact method on his profile to get in touch with him.
    Login here with your wp login and post your request.

    By doing that,
    – you can continue to contribute to BP’s CN translation but you will also be able to IMPORT your whole translation to glotpress. and not only one by one string as actually.
    – approve/disapprove other users contribution.

    Actual CN translation state:

    Do you don’t understand what i write or do you never read the answers you receive ?

    I already answered to that question: why do i need to ask Polyglots to became Translation Editor.
    I don’t know jerry221, i just see here that he is registered as BP’s translation editor and that he wrote the first topic of this tread.

    Hi @idichoo,

    I’m interested in getting the updated translations.
    did you manage to follow the instructions and do you need any help?

    I see you are a still a contributor but not an editor.
    The editor is still @jerryd221 who has no contact details and no activity for 11 months.

    My Chinese is HSK5 level so I can understand but I’m not the best to do the translations, however my English is good, and I’d like to help 🙂
