Ok, so i have used the wp-admin to search for buddypress, installed it, activated it and when i click on the settings link, i keep getting a page with “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.” when logged in as the ADMIN user for my wp install.

Why am i getting this issue?

I have no active plugins other than buddypress and can not get beyond this issue.

    Please help. . .

@kenn_icuk WP/BP versions? Is your installation hosted locally or on shared hosting or VPS, etc? Windows or Linux? Are you using bp-default theme or a custom theme?

I have the same problem. I’m testing the software so my host is http://localhost:8888 (using mamp). Once installed, the only way to move forward is by using the accompanying Buddypress Default Theme.

When trying to use the Setup process with another theme enabled, the Save button in the setup after install for Buddypress isn’t there.

Isn’t there a way to use other themes with this software?
