    Hello

I have created a brand new wordpress site using 3.4.2

the first thing i done was install buddypress.
I installed using all the pre configured settings and chose the buddypress template.

as soon as i activate the page goes to an error page.

the website loads but the wp-admin will not.

If i use ftp and rename the buddypress plugin folder to something else i can then gain access to the admin page but obviously the website itself wont open.

im stumped and thought maybe someone could help!

    thank you :)

    Server error
The website encountered an error while retrieving http://djdownloads.com.au/wp-admin/plugins.php?activate=true&plugin_status=all&paged=1&s=. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.

that id for wp-admin or any admin pages and the actual website is just a blank white page

    1) Try renaming the wp-content folder via FTP temporarily. Then reload the site and admin.
    2) Are you using the default theme?

    1) Visit the plugins page. This should deactivate all plugins.
    2) Rename the wp-content folder back to “wp-content”
    3) Activate the BuddyPress plugin.
    4) Activate the BuddyPress Default theme.

    Does this help?

@djd_admin – A google search for the following turned up some interesting results:

buddypress “It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.”

Same problem here… I install wordpress, running the DB locally through MAMP… everything works properly… Then I install buddypress, and when I activate it the browser always gives me the message “the server may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly”… Help please!
