Need help customizing a theme

    Hi there

    As you my probably have red in other posts i’m working on my community. Therefore i’d like to customize the default BP-1.2-theme.

    I’ve tried to show it on a screenshot http://img.skitch.com/20100329-858k25y86eu1kq7mihfyggpsu2.png what i’d like to do.

    I’d like to have a place between the header section and site-content (Activity, Members, Blogs …) where the red stroke is. How do i get this? I’d like to have different contents on every page.

    And is it possible to make this area widget-compatible, so that i could place a widget there?

    If this isn’t possible i’ll hardcode it.

    Can i do this as a sub theme, so that it will not be touched if i update something ?

    Yeah, you need to make a copy fo the default (or a child theme) and hack that to pieces for what you want.

    Putting in a widget area is only do-able by hardcoding it where you want it.
