No closing php tags in buddypress core files?

    There are a bunch of php pages in Buddypress that have no closing php tag. Is there any particular reason for this? It came to my attention after upgrading WordPress today, which threw a number of errors traced back to improper whitepsace in various plugins, so I went for a mass audit and have come across a few in the buddypress core.
