Not dead yet!

  • Hi all

Just to let you know that Achievements isn’t dead. Whilst there has been no update since BuddyPress 1.1.3, I am actively working on a new version for BuddyPress 1.2.4/1.3. I’m not sure on timescales just yet, but keep an eye on my blog at for updates on progress and sneak-peak screenshots.

Looking forward to the update! Judging by that screenshot, Achievements is going to be a lot more flexible than CubePoints. Being able to automatically trigger “events” – such as a membership level upgrade with s2member?, or access to a “private download vault”? – sounds exciting!

Certainly that’s the plan, though the above box is controls as to what action is required to award the achievement.

Setting an action to happen *after* the achievement has been awarded will almost certainly require per-plugin support; it’s something I want to do and I need to think about the best way.

Looking forward to this…been pacing around this plugin. hehe

Any idea when it will be released towards the latest version of BuddyPress and WordPress?

I’ve been interested in seeing this in action too. I’d like to see what the next version can do compared to Cube Points.

Maybe a couple of weeks. Fitting it in around paying work.

I think it would be nice if its integrated with cubepoints as well. So people will get points for finishing the achievements. :)

You’ll accumulate points by completing Achievements.

    Lookin’ good !

Fitting stuff in around paying work is always tough. I’ve been promising a friend of mine a WordPress site for about a year now. LOL. In my defence… she “moves the goal posts” on a semi-monthly basis. LOL.

I love WoW and going for achievements all the time .. I find this plugin awesome. I hope you keep it up. Maybe a gold point system as well? hehe .. keep it up!
