    Hi,

    Can anyone tell me how to set up a ‘My profile’ page for Buddypress?
    I want members to be able to adjust their profile.
    I have hidden the WP toolbar with WP members, so they can not use that.

    Is there a shortcode I can use to show the profile of a logged in member?

    Many thanks!

    WPversion: WordPress 4.9.8 thema: ColorMag.
    Buddypress version: 3.1.0

    Hi,

    You can easily create a link code like this:

    <?php if(is_user_logged_in())?>
    <a href="<php echo bp_core_get_user_domain( get_current_user_id() ); ?>">Profile</a>

    and can put it on top of the homepage template so that users can go to their BuddyPress profile.

    You can check this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-profile-shortcodes-extra/ as well.

    Thanks

    Hi Prashant,

    Thanks for your reply and help!
    I have added the shortcode but it shows as an URL on the website.
    I would like to show it as a page instead.

    So the following;
    – member logs in on front end
    – member goes to the menu and selects ‘my profile’
    – member sees a page with it’s profile and is able to edit
    – so not needing to open a link

    do you know how that works?

    Would be very helpful!

    Thanks!

    If you have menus there then it’s easy to add BuddyPress links there. Please check this link: https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/buddypress-links-in-wordpress-menus/

    You can choose profile from there and it will lead to member’s profile only.

    Thanks

    Great, the codex did the trick! Many thanks for your help!!

    Any idea if I can adjust the pages a bit? The way the activity is shown for example? It’s not so nice at the moment..

    Thanks again!

    I can not see that page, how it is coming. But if you want to change anything there in template then you can easily override BuddyPress templates in your child theme to do some modifications. Please check this https://codex.buddypress.org/themes/theme-compatibility-1-7/template-hierarchy/

    Thanks
