User documentation is missing
I have been using this wonderful system and learning it since a week. But what i am missing badly is end user documentation.I want my users to know how does the system works.Sometimes myself also get confused about the system.
I am still searching for that if there is availability for uploading files within a group by group members.
Please respond to this as i wanted to launch my buddypress based website soon.I am still in a process of integrating bbpress with my system.I think i will soon complete that also.
ohh it must be done at the first stage itself man !!! There must be such a documentation for end user for more usage of the system.
Also is there any facility in for file attachment in the buddypress please tell me if there is any possibility or any hack possible.
File attachment is a new subject and probably needs its own topic but I’ll answer here.
You can attach all the files you want inside of your blogs. You can put them inside of pages or posts.
http://codex.buddypress.org – see that “Edit Page” button at the bottom?
This is a community of users after all, you don’t need to be a coder to contribute.
I am not finding any solution for it guys please suggest some hack atleast so that i can give it a try.
Please man otherwise i have to think of some other system.
I really loved the way buddypress works and looks.
Please guys do something.
.Yesterday i was looking for some social networking opensource softwares and i came across.
ELGG community software. This software has all the requirements that are wanted in my website. But i dont know why i am still not thinking of switching to it.
Still want to use buddypress can you please suggest and help me through this problem.
You have asked two different question. I’m not sure which of those you are still looking for an answer.
As Andy stated, since this is an open source project, any documentation that currently exists on how to use BuddyPress or how to develop for BuddyPress can be found in the Codex. The information is growing but incomplete. It is up to the all-volunteer community to contribute to that documentation.
As far as media uploading, this will come with time. There is, however, a wonderful 3rd-party plugin that Manoj Kumar has developed in which you might be interested.
Many thanks for guiding me in the way.But i am lacking in buddypress with only 2 functions. Users and Group file uploads. And integrated forums.
If there exist these facilities i would not have switched to elgg at this moment as a big fan of wordpress and eventually buddypress as well.
