    Bump (and, if bumping is frowned upon here can one of the mods please let me know).

    Hi @josiejackson

    A few basic questions:

    • Did Editing Basic Profile Group work before, i.e. is this a new error message, or has this been like this from the start?
    • Did you try switching to a different theme, to see if the error still shows up?

    There’s a good template to follow here that helps the community helping you troubleshoot what the problem might be.

    Pinging @teeboy4real as they mentioned the error log.

    Hi @imath

    • If Activity Streams is enabled, then the ‘Last active’ label sits underneath the Cover Image, as it should be (Screenshot)
    • However, if Activity Streams is disabled, then the ‘Last active’ label sits inside the Cover Image itself, which makes it hard to read (Screenshot)
    • I noticed this in earlier versions and it is still present in this beta version too.

    @yesbutmaybeno I ran a quick search on this query (I did it on BP 8.0.0, I don’t imagine it that different from 7.2.1 but keep this in mind).

    If by ‘Any ideas where this is being called’ you mean which file this is contained by, it seems to originate from bp-activity/classes/class-bp-activity-activity.php

    In a few instances this is inside an apply_filters hook, so there may be a chance you can hook into that and change the index to something else.

    Hope this helps some.

    EDIT: I checked your page again and saw that your registration fields now seem to be back on the page?

    Did you find out what the problem was?

    ok, I would start asking several questions, many of which are included here

    When Asking for Support

    as Mathieu suggested.

    Are you able to provide answers to those questions (e.g. not only WP and BP versions but also, did you upgrade from prior versions and which versions were they, do you have any other plugins, etc.) ?

    @imath Thanks Mathieu for your reply and the offer.

    Yes I would be happy to contribute where I can. Happy for an account to be created on the staging site 😄

    Thank you for this, we’ve tried all of the above and unfortunately we’re still faced with the same issue

    @rightanglecreative90
    just to be clear about the above, does it mean that you tried all those recommendations (for example switching theme) and the register form is still missing in another theme?

    Hi Mathieu, thanks for pointing out the declining figures about BP adoption.

    Given I am relatively new to BP, I won’t comment on what I think is needed from a technical point of view. As I get acquainted with BP I find that I really like the product and it seems flexible enough for my needs.

    I will add, though, that, the decline in BP usage should be put in context. While BP adoption seems to be going down, are there competing products that are increasing in market share?

    One possible issue is that this is a community-driven product. Its contributors are volunteers.

    This kind of product tends to lag behind similar products which are profit-funded. Let’s not forget the old marketing adage “You could have the best product in the world, but if nobody knows about it, what’s the point?”.

    So yes, perhaps increased marketing for BP should be a starting point.

    The other thing I’d look at is documentation. WordPress has excellent documentation. Its market share keeps going up and has done so for years.

    Could the limited documentation be a factor here?

    Currently I have limited knowledge of the product but I would be happy to contribute and help where I can to improve the current docs (pinging @johnjamesjacoby, @shanebp or @djpaul for this).

    @brianbws

    Hi Brian, I looked at that ticket logged by you and as far as I understand, applying the patch supplied by @boonebgorges and @imath works for you.

    How do you apply that patch please? It looks like you need git to apply it, is that right?

    Sorry I’m not too clued up on git.

    Thank you

    This seems still an issue on BuddyPress Version 4.4.0: I have seen that a ticket has been created by Brian, details here for tracking and visibility:

    @fawp

    hi guys, I have installed BuddyPress on a localhost for evaluation purposes and I am experiencing what @naeemdh posted in their OP.

    Are Forums included by default in notifications?

    If not, is there any way to include them?

    Thank you in advance,
    fawp
