I suggest you create a <a href="http://codex.buddypress.org/how-to-guides/building-a-buddypress-child-theme/" rel="nofollow ugc">Child Theme</a> first.</p>
<p>There are also some good SEO plugins out there, although I don&#8217;t know what works with BuddyPress.  Hopefully somebody else&#8217;ll chime in here.</p>
