<p>I wanted to know if it’s possible to edit the private messaging so that the client doesn’t have to insert a subject before sending his message to his correspondent?<br />
The current version of the message subject is mandatory. </p>

<p>my best suggestion is to try and reinstall WordPress and BuddyPress &amp; bbPress manually via ftp.<br />
If that doesn&#8217;t work, you&#8217;re best bet is to reinstall the most recent versions of those (before the upgrade of course) and then upload your most recent .sql backup via phpmyadmin to restore your site pre-upgrade.  </p>

But since choosing a default role is an essential requirement for the WordPress core it is advisable that you do provide a default role.</p>
