<p>Under Settings &gt; General I&#8217;ve unchecked &#8216;Anyone can register&#8217;. Then, under Settings &gt; BuddyPress &gt; Options &gt; Members Settings, I&#8217;ve checked &#8216;Allow visitors to request site membership&#8217;.</p>

I notice that the plugin hasn&#8217;t been updated since 5-20-2012.</p>
