I&#8217;d suggest using a child theme: <a href="http://codex.buddypress.org/how-to-guides/building-a-buddypress-child-theme/" rel="nofollow ugc">http://codex.buddypress.org/how-to-guides/building-a-buddypress-child-theme/</a>  You&#8217;ll just want to override the index.php and you can make it look however you want.</p>
