I don’t use the buddypress activity plus plugin but I would assume it is js that conflicts with your theme. Maybe it loads jquery from google instead of the included js in WP in the header which you should be able to comment out or remove. This is a third party plugin that has not been updated in a while so you may want to request support on the WPMU DEV forums as well. When WP 3.6 comes out It is supposed to support native audio and video support but I am not sure how or if that will be integrated within the buddypress activity post. If so it will be awesome!
