You should check is_404() at template_redirect priority 11 the earliest.

I think when BuddyPress analyzes the URI WP Query’s is_404 property is true.
So when my WAF checks is_404() in template_redirect hook it detects group pages as a 404.

During this bp_current_component() returns ‘groups’.
Could you please fix BP to keep is_404 false?

Our login page is a 404, so any meta in it has no effect.

Is there a way to add rel="nofollow" as our login page is pretending to be a 404.
