Never mind, Boone. I did the .htaccess thingy again and now it worked. I’ll never understand but I don’t have time to research 🙂
Thank you very much!!!. One question remains though: How should I set up MAMP to work on PHP: using version 5.2.13 or 5.3.2?

Yes, I worked on the permalinks and did the changes to .htaccess. I worked on another blog on my server and had no problem, so I’m now blaming MAMP. I just don’t know if there would be any difference.

Regarding the 6 folders that come under bp-template-pack/templates – I copied them to wp-content/themes/bp-default directory but I didn’t delete the original folders. Could that be the problem? Should I MOVE instead of copying?

I was having a hard time trying to find the .htaccess file on my iMac, until I figured out that it is a hidden file (I’m working on MAMP Pro). If that is your case (Mac) , you have to unhide it.

Great tip! It pointed to a file under the root that came with MAMP Pro so I deleted it but I’m still unable to retrieve the pages for each tab.

You guys rock! It worked! But it left a little bit of a code that I don’t know how to get rid of. Every tab shows the “?” for a logo which WP can’t find (1 Files: index.php and MAMP-PRO-Logo.gif) Where would that code be?

Interesting. I found that same file under an old WP installation in my web server but when I downloaded WP to my Mac’s HD this file did not come with it or maybe it is hidden. Thank you for the tip. I’m still trying to find that file on my Mac.
