I have a perfectly working set up with WP 2.9.2 and BP 1.2.3, using the default BP theme, except for one thing: when I post a reply to a message in the activity stream, it never shows up in the stream. All the AJAX magic when posting the reply works: it updates the number of replies, shows my reply underneath the message, but when going to the activity stream page, it’s gone. It does show up in my activity > personal screen though, and the original poster of the message gets an email notification.

Suggestions are very much appreciated…

Please…any ideas? I have tried again with a clean install and still the same result.

I found out it’s probably the server configuration; I installed it on another server and everything worked as supposed to.

Ah, glad that you figured that one out. What server were you using previously and which one are you using now?

Sorry for my late reply…

I did not dive further into the problem yet, but the not working version is set up as follows;

http://www.mydomain.com > runs IIS + static asp website
buddypress.mydomain.com > is pointing to a different IP; a server that runs apache

I will post an update as soon as I’ve found out more.

The working version is on a regular Dreamhost account and worked out of the box.

@tib did you have a chance to look at the problem yet? I’m having the exact same issue with a WAMP install and I’m considering a move to Linux this weekend if I can’t find a solution because nothing’s worked yet.
