I would like to use a solution like this… but… to take away my ability to host the media, is too much risk. After reading the response they have for ”Why can’t I use my own server?” – I won’t even try it. They seem to have a hidden agenda, that being to charge you for server space. They should be more forthcoming about their agenda. -

the widget widths are set with CSS, but usually the div#sidebar width is set and that controls the widget width, for example here on buddypress.org:

It is possible to use qtranslate to get a multilanguage buddypress website, however, there are issues. When using the non-default language, the ajax-loaded content will display a “No content found” (ie: “There were no groups found”) warning in the default language.
