I removed the files and reinstalled them. Still getting the same error message.

I’m not sure; maybe the upgrade didn’t work properly. Have you tied deleting the BP files and reinstalling them? You should be able to leave the database as-is.

Just type in the search term How-To-and Troubleshooting. On the bottom of the search return page you will get a “Groups Matching “groups”" section. There you will find all the groups matching your search request.
Select the heading that better describes your search and then click on it.

I was directed to a plug in that fixes or makes the addition of tabs easier. Install the Page Links To by Mark Jaquith or go to http://txfx.net/wordpress-plugins/page-links-to/ It works great!
