    @foxly

    Given your skill to programatically pull what you need out of the array, you could have both what you need for back-end placement of the photo, and front-end serving of the photo, providing links to browse and view the photo.

    @foxly As you can see, in the result… The “path” refers to physical path (on the back end) to where the photo would be placed: => string(54) "/home3/myusername/public_html/wp-content/uploads/2010/10" The “url” refers to the full URL (for the front end) coming down to where the image’s filename would be appended: => string(45)…[Read more]

    @foxly OK, I did just what you asked. I’m excited to say that the result shows /both/ physical path info and virtual path info. Perhaps with your knowledge of how to parse the results… Speaking of which, here are the results: `array(6) { => string(54) “/home3/myusername/public_html/wp-content/uploads/2010/10″ => string(45)…[Read more]

    Sorry for the delay in responding. I did not see the replies until just now. I will test this ASAP.

    I think I will temporarily remove the redirect fix code I put into my .htaccess while testing it out.

    Thanks for the BuddyPress Media plugin!! I am so glad to get something that finally works! Re: Activity Stream does not show photos The Activity Stream does show text saying that a photo was uploaded, but not the photo itself. I am perhaps capable of customizing/editing code on my site to change that, but … [...]

    I have found code instances of specifying one filter, but I have been unable to find code instances (or examples) for combining more than one filter. Can anyone give me a lead or show an example of how to combine more than one filter? I would be deeply indebted.

    @foxly

    That is a method from the Codex for obtaining a given WP blog’s upload directory, which (I’m gathering) is a method not being used by the plugin.

    Very kind invitation! I’m too much of a newbie to say much yet. But I am trying to remember than when groups need to think outside the box, they need input from newbies who don’t know there is a box. :-)

    @RogerCoathup

    Thanks! Immensely helpful.

    When members visit one of their friend’s profiles and don’t immediately see stuff they and others have posted to that friend, it makes it hard to build any interest in the site as a place of social interaction.

    I will be working on this. Thanks again!

    I’m guessing there is a reason, but not sure why you could not use :

    …To get the user’s specified directory. What am I missing?

    I would like to have them combined in something called a wall, and still have the filtered versions that already exist. I have a lot of coding experience, but I am a newbie when it comes to BP. I will eventually start work on this, and eventually figure it out. Any gurus out there that [...]

    Very informative answers! Thanks again. Given what you’ve posted, I have a better understanding of why getting something that works is so tough. Glad I was able to get it to work. Thanks again!

    @r-a-y Thanks. I had found that same post yesterday and already applied it. Works great! I like it because I get the benefit of “post on wall” type usability, and I still get the email notifications, which I think is an important feature. I now simply wish to have ” @username” tagging (mentions) to continue to work [...]

    The view shown when looking at this page: http://buddypress.org/community/members/DougJoseph/activity/81219 …Is what I am after. I am using the FISHBOOK theme (BuddyPress BuddyPack) and that one page shows all screwy in the formatting of its header and width, and I cannot find where the code is to see why. I switched from the FISHBOOK theme to [...]
