I am having the exact same issue. i don’t have the option of un installing everything since it’s a client site and it was working perfectly fine until last week. We went live a month ago so I don’t know this suddenly cropped up!

Hi! How can i only allow people to add friends on the network if they either hhave their personal email address or if they are referred by another friend on the network?
Is there a plugin for this or is there anyone who’d be willing to custom develop it? -

So i used Facebook’s URL Linter and discovered that Facebook is scraping the wrong meta data ONLY when trying to access info from the activity stream and member profiles page.
It’s fine for simple pages.
Do you know of anyway I can figure this out? I appreciate your quick responses and your help… -

So i did try the like button, but it seems facebook still scrapes my membership page.
do you think it’s because i’m using s2member ?should i open up the rss feeds to the search engines?

If your pages are behind a login then FB will scrap login page.

I’m going to switch the button down the road to the like. For now they are still allowing the use of the share but eventually it will be phased out.

@svenl77 Hey @Sveni77! I tried to use the function to add the facebook like button, but it keeps telling me that there is an unexpected t-string.
any idea what might be happening?

If you are referring to FB share there is not much you can do. Facebook scrapes the page and takes what it wants. They are also doing away with the share button and instead want sites to use like buttons. You can try to add graph tags to web pages to tell FB what content to use.

Hey !! I love this plugin!
However, running into some issues. When I try to share anything from the activity stream or any part of the site, it doesn\’t share that info, it shares the site\’s membership page info.
It\’s wierd. and it shows the paypal logo which is also on our membership subscription page. Any idea why? -

@sbrajesh Hey Brajesh! I am trying to add a my profile link to my custom wordpress menu (I also have buddypress installed) . I tried adding the code you mentioned in the forums a couple of months ago.
However, it doesn’t seem to work for me.
I think it’s because it’s adding it to the BP admin bar which I have disabled.

So apparently two of my groups are public and show up in the NUMBER of the groups, but don’t actually show up in the list.
I went into the database and both of those groups should be visible since they are public.
No idea why they aren’t showing up! -
