Hi @markaduffy BuddyPress and bbPress are separate pieces of software, which both require WordPress to use. BuddyPress uses bbPress for its Groups’ forum functionality. It’s quite possible that the patch doesn’t actually work. I suggest you write a comment on that bug and say the patch doesn’t work

Take a look at Brajesh’s Global Search. It has functions to return search results for forums, blogs, members, groups and site pages/posts.
