Hi there. Great concept. I cant wait to get it working.
I’m trying to activate it on multisite.
I tried network activating the plugin but it didnt work. Then I tried activating only on the site that is running the BP child theme were using (Frisco btw).
I’ve changed the code ok in bp-default/header.php too.
- Any ideas? thanks
Also, as this plugin involves hacking core theme files will I need to manually change header.php whenever we update Buddypress?
thanks for your help.
I’d been playing around with those settings, but with no luck.
my issue is that I want keep my site body width as 990px but want the admin bar to stretch fluidly to whichever width the browser extends to.
my changes seem to effect the body of the site too, and not the adminbar on its own.
is anyone else running a fluid width using BP-default theme?
Thanks for the tip. I’m pretty keen to establish clickable links if possible.
I tested this in the $social_networking_fields = array
'Website URL' =>'www.' ,
It seems to work for me as long as I make the instructions clear in the field description about how to format the url. i.e. with [mydomain.com] and no http:// or www.
My site is still in dev so i have no stats on user understanding of this.
For future reference –
I tried setting a default value in a multiselect box for all new users.
The member comment link doesn’t redirect immediately to the member’s profile, but it did work when I clicked ‘Save Changes’ in edit profile > even though I didn’t manually edit any content as such.
So my theory (assuming no other fix), is to direct new members to their profiles after registration. Once they’ve saved changes then all should be ok.
I’d still be interested to know more about your solution above…. as well.
Thanks a lot R-a-y!
Boones plugin works great.
I have one issue, which after reading your commentary on Boones post, you seem well qualified to answer ….
I wasn’t able to get the website URL inside a text field linking to anything but the members search results. I used the following:
thanks again for your help.
right… so no easy job then?
Any ideas on how it works with the developer profiles on the BP site then?
thanks for your help.
Pardon my ignorance. Which file do you you edit and where do you place the code for this?
Alternatively, is there a way to add some default content to a user’s profile on creation, so that the link immediately goes bacl to their BP Profile?
