The site admin can now go to manage members, and at the bottom is a link (and a warning) where you can reset every group members subscription level. enjoy

Ok, the only thought – your BP installation is not in the root of the domain.
AND! If you have shortcodes for php (aka ) disabled – it might still doesn’t work.
