@mercime Those terms are not dictated by the default.pot file. I’ve eliminated every occurring of “Friend” and “Group” in there, and yet it appears/

I was originally asking about the sub-menus in the profile page etc. I can’t find what defines the printed text. e.g. “Friends”, “Groups” etc.

hahaha Good to be recognised @Chouf1

That didn’t seem to do anything for me. However I have found what is at work here and removed it.

    Solution</strong

    Remove Line 112
    ` add_theme_support( 'custom-header', $custom_header_args );
    `

Was the topic moved to “Creating & Extending”? I certainly didn’t post it in here and it makes less sense than “How-To & Troubleshooting”.

There has to be a reason why I can’t alter the output of this plugin. I tried resizing the oEmbed outputs as per r-a-y’s instructions, and that didn’t work either.

I’ve deactivated the plugin to avoid the conflict and the oEmbeds are still hovering above the s.

I am very careful to not leave a mess behind me. I removed it from functions.php before creating the bp-custom file.

    Appreciated.

I am unable to make use of this. I included this in my Child Theme’s functions.php with no effect.

I created a bp-custom.php file and got the following:

`Fatal error: Cannot redeclare be_oembed_transparency() (previously declared in /misc/25/000/100/476/0/user/web/nagualgrove.com/wp-content/plugins/buddypress-group-css/bp-group-css.php:206) in /misc/25/000/100/476/0/user/web/nagualgrove.com/wp-content/plugins/bp-custom.php on line 24`

Which doesn’t make sense because line 24 consists of:

    `}`

I’m useless when it comes to PHP. CSS frustrates me enough, I’m only just learning that. So forgive my ignorance.

I need to get this done, and this conversation perplexes me a little.

First of all I don’t know which file I’ll need to “say” this in. Is it the bp-custom.php file?

And second of all, Hugo’s php doesn’t appear to me to contain any directions on what to do with the groups after “summoning” them. What else do I need to “say”?

I killed all the plugins via the database to regain control of my site and reactivated them. Had trouble activating Group CSS. I deleted it and replaced it.

I don’t know where the conflict was, but I smoothed it out that way.

    Thanks

Sorry for the ridiculous ambiguity of my original post. Looking at code all day is beginning to make me think like a machine.

I was editing the theme’s header directly by file. The theme I’m using is Frisco for Buddypress.

And oh crap, I just deactivated Buddypress to answer your question and now all that I have on my website is an SQL error. lol

I don’t like to bump posts – but I feel there may be someone out there who might have an idea.

Oh dear, I did leave that part out.
I assumed it would be included in the status update comments (since those are native to BP), and it mentioned it would function within bbpress.

I honestly don’t mind, it works pretty well where it does. No stress. Just giving feedback.

    Thanks

I deactivated bbpress, individually disabled each group forum (forum remained functional), then reactivated bbpress, and found that the two group forums were still present.

My only option is to manually insert the forums into the database. Any clues for me?
I’ll show my work if I succeed.

Update: The two groups aren’t visible in the wp_bb_forums table. I’m SQL illiterate, what does this mean?

No. I’ve checked and there isn’t a single setting that any of these don’t have that the two do. It’s bizarre. Funny thing is that one of the forums included in the main installation has ” Enable discussion forum” unchecked.

I created a test group. That did not appear in the main forums. Should it?

Would by best bet be to re-install bbpress somehow?

That plugin is long broken as Tinychat no longer provides API codes and I’m not sure if the plugin’s actual makeup is up-to-date with the latest WordPress.

Alright, thanks for clearing that up, I’ll convert to WP3.0
