the beta is not out yet. the alpha is not out yet either. download the latest nightly build to test it, but don’t expect a fully working version. You’ll have to wait a few more months I guess.

bp-media is not even in alpha stage yet, so you really shouldn’t use it on live sites. there is no stable release, it is under development. what you downloaded is most probably a very old nightly build.
