502 Error – after clicking the activate plugins’ botton

  • I did all the required to get this plugins to work but I got this error everytime I’m trying to activate the plugins:
    502 – Web server received an invalid response while acting as a gateway or proxy server.

    Wordpress : 2.9.2
    Buddypress : 1.2.3 fresh install
    Server : Microsoft IIS 7
    Host : webhost4life
    Site location : root

    The error displayed in my site both at front and back. My site went back to normal after I remove the plugins via FTP.
    Can anyone tell me how I could get this great plugins to work?

    @r-a-y

    Try this?

    This might not be a BuddyPress problem… might be good to try and troubleshoot your server setup.

    I red the link.
    What is NPH CGI?

    Google is your friend:

    Although I wouldn’t worry too much about trying to understand this as it’s getting rather technical.

    First stop ought to be your web host’s tech support who may well be able to clear up what’s happening quickly and definitively.

    Failing a resolution from your web host I would head of to a good tech forum with server sub forums such as SitePoint or DevShed and ask the question there but prepare the question with as much detail of your server set up in advance as it saves people having to ask for the info and will earn you brownie points and a more favorable response.
