    Hei Andy!

I try it out, but it doesn’t work. It looks like the bbpress-integration doesn’t work. Can you post whitch version do you use. WpMU 2.7, buddypress the latest trunk an bbpress? 1.0 Alpa, lates trunk, 0.9.3? On the bbpress-forum is a discussion why the bbpress-integration doesn’t work. It looks like a bbpress-problem. How du you resolve this?

    Thanks! M

My BBPress installation cannot find my salt cookies even when I plug them into the install from wp-config.

They do not appear in my WPMU admin options menu.

I always get this message at the end of install:

    >>> WordPress “auth” cookie salt not set.

    >>>>>> Could not fetch “auth” cookie salt from the WordPress options table.

    >>>>>> You will need to manually define the “auth” cookie salt in your database.

    >>> WordPress “logged in” cookie salt not set.

    >>>>>> Could not fetch “logged in” cookie salt from the WordPress options table.

    >>>>>> You will need to manually define the “logged in” cookie salt in your database.

    Forum could not be created!

Nevertheless, I get an email saying that the install was successful. But when I go to the BBPress admin in the WPMU dashboard it doesn’t see the installation.

I’ve been trying for two weeks to figure out how to install the Forums and can’t even get BBpress to install, much less integrate it. No help on their forums, so I’m hoping someone might have a hint here.

None of the salt values appear in the WPMU 2.7 admin options menu

I have the exact same issues at marcbrzeau and get these errors at end of install:

    >>> WordPress “auth” cookie salt not set.

    >>>>>> Could not fetch “auth” cookie salt from the WordPress options table.

    >>>>>> You will need to manually define the “auth” cookie salt in your database.

    >>> WordPress “logged in” cookie salt not set.

    >>>>>> Could not fetch “logged in” cookie salt from the WordPress options table.

    >>>>>> You will need to manually define the “logged in” cookie salt in your database.

    Forum could not be created!

Read the sticky by Trent on how to do this but read the entire thread as the first post hsan’t got all the answers.

I manually opened the wp-config.php file and copied the salts to the bb-config.php file, changing the names of the variables in the process.

you don’t need the cookie integration for forums to work. Check the new readme file.

Martin, thanks for the tip, but there was no “Auth Salt” value in my wp-config.php file.

Andy, even if I try to skip the cookie integration it still seeks out the salt values and says “Forum could not be created!”

Maybe I need to delete all the bb_ tables in the database?

Andy, I deleted the 9 bb_ rows from the database, reinstalled skipping the integration step and that worked. Thank you!

Is it possible to have buddypress and bbpress integrated in a way that once user is registered in buddypress, he/she doesn’t need to register again in bbpress and vice-versa? I have followed instructions here on how to integrate them but with no luck. Is there any way of telling (debug) what is wrong?

    Thanks,

@Vladeta: If you follow all the instructions in Trents thread then it will work.

I had problems as well until I did /exactly/ what the thread told me to do.

Just make sure you read the entire thread as the first post lacks some information.
