Getting the old View Profile Back

I’m wondering how I could change the profile link format from BuddyPress /member/user/ format back to the old wordpress /profile/?viewuser=2?

I ask because I am using an older custom profile plugin that uses the old Linking system. It’s much more powerful than the BuddyPress profile system. It would be awesome if I could change it in BuddyPress so i can still keep the ALL the BuddyPress features but Harness the power of the plugins profile plugin.

Can someone point me in the right direction? Which function to modify?

sorry can’t help you but I’d like to add my vote

/member/user format is much cleaner and seo friendly

why was it changed in the first place?

It’s much more powerful than the BuddyPress profile system.

I seriously doubt that – the user account / profile is one of BP’s big strengths

Don’t really see any virtue in ‘?viewuser=2’

Regardless you request is going to be next to impossible BP has very specific and complex methods for constructing and managing url structures, even if this were possible you would need to have quite advanced skills and knowledge of WP & BP api.
