Ghost Comment Spam in Sitewide Activity Feed

I have a bizarre issue after upgrading to BuddyPress 1.1.3 (I’m running WPMu 2.8.6) first members activity pages are showing the Sitewide Activity feed. Now this first issue may be due to my theme hacking and I’ll look at this more closely. But what I realized through seeing the Sitewide Activity feed in the member activity space is that there are a ton of ghost spam comment. And What I mean by this is the spam is full of links that work in the sitewide activity page and feed, but the comments don;t show up on the posts they say they are posted on. It’s bizarre. You can see the activity feed in a member page here:

What’s more, is that the spam are being attributed to me now. They had been attributed to a user that was being syndicated in previously, but I deleted that user to see if it woul stop, but once I did that I became the author of these spams. Anyone have any ideas what might be happening, is this an issue of simply upgrading to 2.9.1, or is it an issue of my sitewide activity feed being hacked, cause I can’t find a hint of these spams in the database, hence the “ghost spam.”

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Update: Seems like the sitewide activity feed is showing the comments that Akismet is marking as spam. Which simplifies my issue, or so I think, how do I filter the spam comments out? Any ideas?

A re-install of the BuddyPress plugin as well as a rehacking of the custom theme seems to be doing the trick, time to turn this ticket off for now.

JImgroom, how did you hack the theme? I’m having the same trouble.
