There are a good number of threads on these forums that I am trying to ‘keep up’ on as they are pertinent to what I have been working on.

What I can’t figure out is how to ‘subscribe’ to a thread, or add it to my favorites etc, so that I can keep them on the top of my list. I find without a subscribe or favorite thread I end up forgetting about some of them, which are actually important to me.

I’m not really used to this forum software, much more used to vb where i simply click a button to either subscribe ’email updates’ or add to favorites that go to my profile.

As I have never ever seen forum software without this feature, I am guessing that it’s here somewhere, and I’m just to plain stupid to find out how.

How in the world do I get to the page that shows all the theads I have participated in?

I tried typing my username into the search box, but that did not return the threads.

I subscribe posts using RSS feeds. I just use my mail program and check it every now and then to see if there is any activity.

And about that last question, you can check out your activity stream on your page to see them. I think the search function only searches for content in the topic without including who posted it.

As to activity streams:

Well as I don’t ‘blog’ or anything on this site that can ‘sort of’ work for now. I’d hate to have to go that route on my own buddypress setup though, as I may post 20-50 blogs posts a day, and respond to a few hundred other posts. The forum posts would simply get lost in the mix.

Are simple functions like subscribe and add to favorites not available in bbpress?

There\’s a small rss button right next to the thread\’s title.

As Rayni suggests, you can add a given thread to your feed reader. And, as Toly points out, the feed icon is right after the thread title–although perhaps we need to make it bigger

On the forum’s homepage, look at the top, for the “Forum Listing” heading. In the second sentence below that heading, that reads, “You can also view your started and replied topics,” there is a link to accomplish just that.
