[Resolved] How to activate existing WP users as BP members effectively?

Hello,

I’ve run a WP blog site for years. Recently, I installed BP based on WordPress multi-sites. After directly import existing members from DB of WP blog site to new BP site, all users are NOT showing in the member list/directory.

According to my testing, in order to activate existing WP users as BP members, the user has to login. I am wondering whether there is effective way to activate all existing WP users as BP members?

Any ideas are appreciated!

Hi Peter,
The user does not need to login. You just need to add a user meta ‘last_activity’ for each user and they will appear on your member directory.

I needed this a while back for a bunch of existing users, so ran up a simple quick script to do this, wouldn’t run it on a production site but worked in my test environment for my purpose, you can copy and run if it helps:
