HTTP 404 – File not found in IE and Chrome

hi,
running a site with wpmu 2.9.1 with buddypress 1.2 beta.
the problem is when a user comes to accept friends requests / edit profile / or some other buddypress features the ajax keeps thinknig or if no ajax he gets HTTP 404 – File not found.
it happens only on IE and chrome, in firefox everything is OK.
we use the BuddyPress Default theme.
the reason is this url’s return a HTTP 404 – File not found:

can it be something on the server? what can it be?
