IE error message

After a fresh install of WP and bp, the site appears fine except the persistent IE error message below
Message: Object doesn’t support this property or method
Line: 2
Char: 2
Code: 0
File refers to widget-groups.js ver=2.9.2
I Could access the js file but doesn’t know what’s the problem and what I should do.
No idea either if this error is causing any problem at all?
Anyone care to enlighten me or point me the way to solve this?
