BuddyPress.org

I am really excited about the prospect of harnessing the power of buddy press as a social network. I finally got some of the page to look like how I want it to look like, however I have issues with the navigation.

I am using a wordpress theme and I cannot seem to get the buddy press navigation to show up on the normal navigation tap.

I hope someone would be able to help, I have been searching all the topics and I got a little lost and need to re-install the program. Perhaps I miss a few steps.
