[New theme] BuddyLite for BP125 and BP126 is ready!

    Hi all!

    I finally finished BuddyLite. A new child-theme for Buddypress… hurray! The features of the basic (free) release include:
    - A fully widgetized homepage template.
    - A fully widgetized footer template.
    - Integrated navigation (requires my Add-All-Nav-Links-to-BP-Adminbar plugin which is included in the zip files).
    - I’ve also incorporated the Global Unified Search function by one of my coding heroes Brajesh Singh.
    - And it comes with an illustrated manual to help you get the most out of this theme (lots of customization possibilities!).

    It’s available in 2 versions; one for BP1.2.5 installs and one for BP1.2.6.

    I haven’t gotten around to shipping it off to the repo yet though. But for those of you who want to take it for a spin, you can grab it from the site I slapped together over the weekend.

    Be sure to download the version that corresponds to your BP install!
    And don’t forget the grab the manual too (separate download).

    Please post any feedback you may have on this initial release here, or on BuddyLite.com (you’ll have to sign up there first though).

    Thanks! The simple part was, well… simple. But I’m glad I got the beautiful in there too :-)

    Installed this on a site and realized there isn’t a full width page template for WP. Are you planning to add this template or should I just create one?

    WoW! Funny you should ask just now ;-)

    I just started putting together a site so folks can take BuddyLite Premium for a test drive. It`s got a fully functional backend admin panel (only the BuddyLite Theme Settings are accessible) with all the customization options one could hope for in a theme framework. And, get this: you can even create, save and share “grand-child” themes. See http://buddylite.com/groups/premium-support/styles/ for an idea on how that works.

    This version of BuddyLite will come with three fixed-width variations: 1200px, 970px and 782px wide. Each will include an optional full-width page template with no sidebar. Also included will be several additional “base-styles” that you can use as-is, or you can customize the heck out of them! One of those will be a fluid, full-screen variation. Still working on those though :-)
