No option to Select who sees Name in Profile Field

    I’m trying to create a Buddypress site where certain member names are visible and others are not to the general public. All of the Profile Fields are editable and permit me to set whether or not Everyone can see a specific profile field EXCEPT for the Name Profile Field. The Name appears in the Buddypress list whether logged in or not and I am unable to edit its visibility. Any ideas on how to get the Name field to act like other Custom Profile fields to select default visibility and whether a user can set visibility?

    When you say ‘Name appears in the Buddypress list’, by ‘list’ you mean the yoursite.com/members page?

    The name field is how a member is identified, so it’s used in many places on many pages in BP.

    Do you mean that you don’t want certain members to appear anywhere on the site ?
    There are ways to make certain members only visible to site administrators, but it requires custom code.

    Sorry if I was not clearer. If I am logged out of the Buddypress site I see an option to click on “Members”. It then allows me to see all Members of the Buddypress community by Name. I can see no other details about them except their name but I can still see their Name. Is there an option so that I have to be logged into the Site in order to views Names of people who are members of the site?
