Since there is no Page-Component in BP (like Facebook Fan-Pages) people can’t post on behalf of a group/company/university etc.

I would be great if group admins would be able to post something with the Groupavatar and Groupname instead of their own name and avatar.

there is a Plugin for that

Plugin causes Fatal error do not use on live site it is still in development

Did you try the 1.2 compatible, bleeding version?
