Remove, disable the option to delete posts, (delete button) activity etc. for users of a certain lev

I’m using Buddypress as a school social network. It’s really important that once a student puts something on Buddypress its stays on Buddypress. We want to avoid a situation where a user puts up something inappropriate or offensive and other users see it but deletes the offending post before it is drawn to the attention of an admin.
Is it possible to remove the ability to delete posts, comments etc for users of a certain type? Is there a plug in or something that can be typed in the bp-custom or edited elsewhere?

Thank in advance for your suggestions.

It can be achieved, but will involve a number of changes. If you are not a competent PHP / BuddyPress developer, then you would be best to hire one for this job

I tried Buddypress User Account Type Lite plug in. But it doesnt work either. Nothing is capable of overwriting Buddypress default user capabilities. First I left Elgg because of a stupid “Privacy Access Option” built into it, now I think history is taking a fresh turn. Both scripts are useless for content driven social networks or “should be well moderated sites”

A good riddance. Disable Group Forums within buddypress and uninstall the installation. Use bbpress 2 for group forums. At least Posts and topics will ever remain untouched

This is possible in 1.6. It’s by no means finished or easy to do, but it’s our first step.
