Users are getting a white screen when they click the activation link.

This is all that shows up in error logs (over and over with a different id):

WordPress database error You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ‘) and a.status in (‘semi’,’private’) and b.is_confirmed=0′ at line 1 for query select a.id,a.name from wp_bp_groups a, wp_bp_groups_members b where a.id=b.group_id and b.user_id=54084 and a.id in (00,) and a.status in (‘semi’,’private’) and b.is_confirmed=0 made by require_once, do_action, call_user_func_array, bprwg_admin_screen

  • The error suggests your problem is in the bp-registration-options plugin.

OK, thanks – deactivating it still leads to the same problem.

If it’s the EXACT same message, then the bp-registration-options plugin is still active. Try renaming that plugin’s folder in your plugin directory, and then visit /wp-admin/plugins.php

Thanks, that did it. Hopefully New User Approve will do what it needs to.
